Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, I have loved drawing and painting since I was a child. I studied neuroscience in college and graduate school, but I eventually left the lab to focus on a career in art and illustration. I live with my husband and our two children, as well as our small herd of cats, outside of Atlanta, GA. When I’m not busy with my kids or my art, I am involved with the Georgia Native Plant Society and am slowly converting our yard into a native plant habitat.
I enjoy challenging myself by trying new mediums, materials, and subject matter. My goal is to go beyond purely representational art to create something beautiful and meaningful.
